For the past couple weeks, the film Black Panther has been taking the box office by storm. Directed by Ryan Coogler, who’s other films include Fruitvale Station and the Rocky spin-off film, Creed, the film stars an A-List cast including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Martin Freeman. “Black Panther” features some of the best action sequences and storytelling this reviewer has ever seen in a Marvel film.
One of the strongest aspects are its characters, sporting one of the most fleshed out villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Killmonger. Of course, the audience sides with the respectable and intelligent protagonist, King T’Challa, but Coogler has given Killmonger a truly understandable reason for being a villain.
